I had the good fortune of being invited to the invitation-only preview
My brother Danny went with me and he took several pictures with Monie's 5-megapixel digital camera. This is the same camera which we are using to take pictures of Monie's new house. I also took my video camera and Danny recorded about 35 or 40 minutes of video. I also recorded some video, but it's harder for me to hold the camera steady while following moving targets. I've copied the video from the video camera to my DVR and I plan to make a DVD after I do some editing and clean it up a bit. I edited the still pictures with Paint Shop Pro (PSP) after we copied them to my PC. With PSP, I resized them and reduced the file sizes to allow for easier viewing in web browsers. I also used the sharpen tool in PSP to make the pictures appear a little more clear when viewed on a PC.
This was my first air show and it was great. If you haven't been to one, I highly recommend it. We lucked out because we didn't have to deal with large crowds or huge traffic jams. We also got to park pretty close to the viewing area near the runway which is shared by NAS Atlanta and Dobbins ARB. The weather was just about perfect too. All in all, it was a very good day.
